I am, thank you. My school is on lockdown, but we’re all hoping this will be over soon.
I think what’s bothering me the most about the MIT shootings, the Boston Marathon bombings, and currently being on lockdown, is that I’m not shocked.
I want to be shocked. I want to be surprised that anyone could do this. I want to be overwhelmed. Floored, even.
But I’m not. And I hate that. I hate the idea that I am not surprised - that my imagination has been so influenced by the events that have unfolded over the course of my life that it is not surprising that people could do such a horrible thing.
Here I am with my school on lock down. I’m not surprised this could happen, but I am sad.
I’m sad for the generation walking behind me whose imaginations are tarnished by school shootings, and bombings. I’m sad for the lives that have been lost, and the friends and family they were so loved by. I’m sad that this is the world that we live in.
But I do have faith in humanity. All the people who have reached out to help Boston in its time of need are incredible. From the police officers to the FBI agents to the average Joe, people are doing their part to help, and that truly is a magical thing.
My thoughts are with everyone this morning.
Stay safe, stay strong.
I love you all.

I don’t know how to change my ask settings, but I reposted it as text

I am OBSESSED with Brandeis. It’s like tumblr in real life because not a day goes by that someone doesn’t quote Disney, Dr. Who, Pokemon, Downton Abbey, or something from my childhood. It’s amazing. I might be your resident advisor!!

You’re wonderful!
I am SO behind on checking my inbox. Also, I will only post submissions that have a link to the original source (unless it was taken by you)

I distinctly remember when I first started this blog wondering what the icon should be, searching for awkward Disney, and finding that picture. I haven’t changed it since!

Well, today I made my boyfriend a bouquet of bacon to congratulate him on the opening night of a show he directed.

So, I’m currently most proud of that.
I want my eyelashes to be as black as my soul and as long as the list of people I hate.

The incident wasn’t about me, so I am quite happy that you are concerned about the runners. As I hope everyone would be.
Here’s an article on how to help out: http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/headlines/2013/04/boston-marathon-victims-how-to-help-find-information/
Hey everyone,
I just wanted to check in that (for those of you who know I go to school in Massachusetts) I’m fine, and my campus is not near the explosions.
(For those of you who do not know what I’m referring to: http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2013/04/15/explosions-near-finish-of-boston-marathon/?hpt=hp_t1 )
My heart goes out to everyone being affected by his tragedy.
It is terrifying that such violent occurrences are becoming commonplace in American society, but it is reassuring that there are so many people who want to reach out and aid in this time of need.
If anyone needs to talk, please know I am here for you.
Love you all,
Kelsey
